Abstract
The conductor configuration is a basic and key problem, it ought to be determined first in the compact line design and is mutually related with many other factors. In the paper, the relevant philosophy is concisely introduced; several conductor configuration schemes of the 500 kV compact lines are compared with each other and with a typical 500 kV conventional line. The electrical and environmental effect parameters of different configuration schemes are assessed as well.
