Abstract :
A coplanar waveguide fed aperture coupled patch antenna mounted on a finite sized ground plane that incorporates a reflector element to reduce backward radiated fields is investigated. By altering the reflector element parameters, the rear field pattern can be adjusted to provide field cancellation in arbitrary directions.
