Abstract :
A model is developed for the study of optical wireless cell occupancy times of mobile nodes. Unlike similar radio models, it allows nodes to move in eight directions, as well as to remain stationary. It is these two elements, together with the introduction of indoor room barriers that are novel. Theoretical results are compared with computer simulations. The agreement between the two sets of results is extremely good, demonstrating the mutual accuracy of both.
