Abstract :
The author describes activities in cooperative research on application-specific microelectronics, the fundamental aim of the Stuttgart Institute for Microelectronics. Two cooperative patterns are presented: one is related to joint efforts with a group of over 100 industrial affiliates of the institute; the other is related to the Eureka program on automotive and traffic electronics, which involves 28 institutes from five European countries
