Abstract :
Proposed and demonstrated is a novel approach of tunable multicasting simultaneous logic AND operation and format conversion for carrier-suppressed return-to-zero (CSRZ) signals. By exploiting cascaded sum- and difference-frequency generation in a periodically-poled lithium niobate waveguide, tunable dual-channel multicasting all-optical 40 Gbit/s CSRZ logic AND operation and CSRZ-to-RZ format conversion is successfully observed in the experiment.
