Abstract :
This paper describes a method for comparing the performance of detectors for use in fiber optic chemical sensors (FOCS). This was done by determining the figures of merit when each one was incorporated in the FOCS scheme. Typical detector systems based on photodiodes, phototransistors, and photoconductors were tested, and the feasibility of their use in FOCS was evaluated
