Abstract :
This paper presents approximation equations for the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for Marcum, Swerling type I, II and III targets. The proposed approximations hold over the entire detection probability interval [0.05 0.999] and for all false alarm probabilities ranging from 10-3 to 10-12, with the number of pulses M varying from 1 to 20. The achieved accuracy is within 0.05 dB for most cases.
