Abstract :
Understanding where, when and how to successfully outsource is proving to be one of the most difficult and important business skills needed for deciding a company´s future. This article discusses the factors which need addressed to ensure a successful outsourcing project. These include establishing what you want to outsource and whether your existing resources are being utilised effectively. In-house staff requirements will also need to be addressed, such as preparation for the project and lines of communication. For vendor selection, serious consideration must be given to the criteria such as cultural match; commitment to quality; references and reputation; flexible contract terms; experience and available resources; and price. Both short and long-term goals must be established to prevent outsourcing from failing to deliver.
