Abstract
For a low- and high-temperature superconducting (LTS/HTS) NMR magnet, an HTS insert, comprised of 50 double pancake (DP) coils, each wound with Bi2223/Ag tape, has been built at FBML. The paper describes design, assembly, and performance data (critical current, splice resistance, field homogeneity) of the HTS insert.
