Abstract :
Monte Carlo simulations have been carried out to compute the static sensitivity of the vacuum Compton detector (VCD) for monoenergetic gamma rays and electrons. A similar calculations using 60Co spectrum as input is found to be in good agreement with measurements. The authors also calculate the detector sensitivities for bremsstrahlung spectra produced by monoenergetic electron beams and compare them with experimental data. It is concluded that the method used is an accurate and reliable one for computing various sensitivities for the VCD
