Abstract :
Purifying water with ozone is a well established environmental-friendly technique that eliminates the use of chlorine. But the scale Amsterdam Water\´s requirements - 100 million cubic meters of Rhine River per year - requires special design of the equipment. Engineers use modelling software to "see" inside the reactors and develop strategies for large-scale water treatment.
