Smart roads hit integration speed bumps

Earlier this year, the US government announced that it would finally begin to explore the integration of in-car electronics with the highway information networks it has been rolling out, ever so slowly. The project is called the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration initiative (VII); its abbreviation has led to the project picking up the nickname ´seven´.
