Abstract :
The authors present measurements of the thermally induced optical frequency switch time of DFB and DBR lasers. The technique, based on FMCW interferometry, is applied to five different lasers and the results are in good agreement with the model adopted for the optical frequency variations during step modulation. The system is simple and the parameters obtained are useful to improve the wavelength drift control
