  • Abstract
The United States is spending billions of dollars a year for military equipment but many believe it is not getting its money´s worth. For years, it has produced fewer and fewer military planes, ships, guns, radar, and other equipment while paying more and more real dollars for them. In addition to the problem of force modernization, the combat readiness of the armed forces has been declining.
