Abstract :
The history of mankind has oscillated between periods of conflict and relative peace, with technology contributing to each. Whether with wooden clubs or with missiles in hardened silos, man has used tools to warn perceived enemies to keep clear. And whether spyglass or satellite, tools have been employed to verify that the perceived enemies indeed stay clear. Today perhaps more than ever nations are increasingly dependent on technologies for peace.
