Abstract :
A turn-key retrofit for a combined cycle General Electric (GE) Frame 5 Fuel Regulator controlled turbine/generator unit is described. Retrofitting existing turbine/generators with a modern digital control system (DCS) increases the effectiveness of the present capacity by increasing the reliability of starts, increasing system availability. improving control performance, improving information display and data acquisition, and improving or replacing outdated fuel delivery systems. The retrofit´s major impact was on the control and fuel systems of the turbine operating system and on the electrical control system of the generator operating system
