Abstract :
This paper presents a new type of combined magnetoelastic force and torque transducer. The magnetoelastic principle of operation has been used because of the mechanical simplicity. The shape of the magnetic core and the configuration of exciting and sensing windings have been chosen to minimize the cross sensitivity between the force measuring system and the torque measuring system. However, the total independence of these two systems has not been achieved. Therefore, a special data processing has been developed in order to evaluate the correct values of measured variables
