Abstract :
This paper describes the construction and the use of a transducer capable of measuring the passage of a pulsed beam of charged particles. A theoretical expression for the response of the transducer is derived using electromagnetic theory and the derived potentials. This expression is then used for optimizing the geometric properties of the cylindrical probe. After evaluating the real-time behavior of the realized probe we present several applications, which are typically related with energy determination of particles
