  • Abstract
The paper is a short introduction to the TET-DEC (Teaching, Education and Training for Dependable Embedded Cyber-physical systems) Special Session at Euromicro SEAA 2014. It provides some views from European research projects\´ perspectives on the role of teaching, education and training in context of achieving a sustainable innovation eco-system as e.g. the European Technology Platform ARTEMIS is aiming at. In 2014, ARTEMIS together with ENIAC and EPoSS formed as "Private Partners" with the EC and the Public Authorities of the member states the new ECSEL Initiative (Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership). In the "Cyber-physical Systems" Part of ECSEL these ideas have been continued. Studies and examples from different European projects are discussed, including the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda and Multi-annual Strategic Plan together with its follow-up in the ECSEL MASRIA (Multi-Annual Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda). In ARTEMIS-IA (Industrial Association of ARTEMIS) the ARTEMIS Working Group on Education and Training is working on the E&T issues. In three ARTEMIS projects (R3-COP, MBAT and SafeCer) is tried to deliver supporting training material to promote more widespread use of the outcomes of the projects, a study (report) was performed within the FP6 European Integrated Project DECOS.
