Abstract :
The authors characterised an analogue self electro-optic effect device as an edge detector. The device consists of five input conventional photodiodes integrated with a pair of quantum well modulators. It is demonstrated that this layout of photodiodes measures only images with at least quadratic spatial intensity variations
