Abstract :
A numerical analysis of second- and third-order modal dispersions in singly clad multimode optical fibers is presented. We show that, because of their cutoff properties, singly clad multimode optical fibers could provide modal dispersions characteristics similar to those observed in multiclad single mode fibers
