Abstract
When ranking a large quantity of fuzzy numbers, the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the ranking process is critical. The paper considers the application of “α-cut” and “fuzzy arithmetic operations” to the fuzzy weighted average (FWA) method which can be used to rank aggregated fuzzy utilities (or generalized fuzzy numbers). The purpose of this application is to make the method easier to program and the data easier to manipulate, which results in a more practical method for fuzzy decisions
