Single frequency efficient estimator

The estimation of the frequency of a noisy cissoid using constrained total least squares is addressed. A simple and efficient frequency estimator based on this principle is then derived. In the noiseless case, an expression of this estimator as a function of the unknown frequency is given. This expression allows theoretical comparison between the proposed estimator and the classical periodogram. Simulation results are presented.
