Abstract :
A broadband low-profile rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) is investigated in this paper, which operating at 5.2GHz band for WLAN applications based on IEEE 802.11a standards. Techniques for enhance bandwidth using micro-strip asymmetrical coupling and metal strip perturbation, simulated results show that the proposed DRA with high permittivity resonator to achieve the -10dB return loss bandwidth of 11% covering frequency range of 4.86GHz-5.40GHz, satisfy the requirement of WLAN applications. Measurement was carried out in anechoic chamber to verify the simulation, and reasonable agreement was obtained.
