Abstract :
The paper presents a novel sleeve monopole antenna and analyzes its VSWR and radiant characteristics. The structure of the antenna above the sleeve is changed so that the height of the antenna is lowered to meet practical needs and the impedance bandwidth is expanded. The proposed omnidirectional antenna, ranging from 120MHz to 520MHz, has a wider bandwidth and the more symmetric antenna pattern compared with the traditional sleeve antenna. The sleeve monopole antenna achieves the bandwidth of 125% for VSWR<; 3 with good radiation patterns.
