Abstract :
Biological processes have inspired scientific research for long time. This perspective article focuses on leveraging biological robustness principles in system design of complex processors. Improving the reliability of such processors with and without defective parts is presented with interesting parallels to biological systems. An earlier version of this article was presented as an invited keynote at the 29th IEEE VLSI Test Symposium (VTS).
