Abstract :
We have developed a measurement system for transverse bow in cold-rolled strip, which is convenient to issue and is accurate to about 0.1 mm deformation of tensile-stressed cold-rolled strip.This system has three parts: sensors to measure optical displacement, control, and a signal-processing computer. The system has been running well without interruption for four years. Since we applied this system to the tension leveler at the coil preparation line, the transverse bow has decreased from 0.13% to 0.038%
