Abstract :
A novel method using power transmission efficiency optimization to design focused antenna array is introduced in this paper. The optimization theory takes the effects of mutual coupling into the design and get a more precise and easy controlled focal distance. A 4×4 focused microstrip antenna arrays is designed to verify the proposed design method. Results show that the array has good performance and the focal distance is about 80% of the design target.
