Abstract :
Simple closed-form expressions for the probability of error of Gaussian filtered minimum-shift keying (GMSK) with discriminator detection in a fast-Rayleigh-fading channel were previously derived by the author (see ibid., vol.VT-35, p.71-6, May 1986) by assuming that the intermediate frequency filter does not distort the received signal. The effect of this filter on the probability of error is now investigated. The optimum bandwidth of the filter is calculated for cases of practical interest. The equations used for the computation of the probability of error are derived and the results are discussed
