Abstract :
In this study, a multirate approach is proposed for the recovery of wide-band global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals. Two or more narrow-band front-ends are used in parallel for collecting different portions of the spectrum of a wide-band GNSS signal that is then reconstructed from its sub-band components. Algorithms for compensating for phase offsets and amplitude imbalances have been developed and used to equalise possible differences among the recovered narrow-band components. Specific focus is given to the case where two front-ends are employed and live GNSS data from the Galileo in-orbit validation elements, GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B are used for demonstrating the effectiveness of the developed reconstruction algorithm.
