  • Abstract
This paper gives an overview of the theoretical and experimental approach which has been carried out in order to study the narrow band and wideband channel characteristics in a straight semi-arched tunnel. To improve the reliability of the link in terms of bit error rate and/or channel capacity, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) techniques have been proposed. Usually the efficiency of MIMO techniques is often compared to the performances of a Single Input Single Output (SISO) system, chosen as a reference. In this presentation, other diversity schemes at the receiving side as selection combining and maximum ratio combining are also considered since they have an easier implantation.
