Abstract :
This paper presents the analysis of the remote field eddy current phenomenon for the nondestructive testing of metallic tubular products. A finite element code using linear tetrahedral edge elements is used for the analysis. The calculated results for different frequencies of exciting coil are evaluated. In the model without a hole in the pipe, the absolute value of the phase of the remote field depends on the frequency of the exciting coil. The phase varies around the hole and the phase difference compared with the case without hole also depends on the frequency. The calculated results and the developed code can be used for the design of the remote field nondestructive testing probe
