Abstract :
A new method of calculating the medium field of head-medium system was developed. This method uses Fourier series expansion, and accurately simulates the three-dimensional field in the presence of a soft material with a gap. When combined with a micromagnetics model for a magnetic recording medium, it gives an accurate estimate for recording characteristics such as overwrite
