Abstract :
Phase separation of carbon coated disks lubricated with perfluoropolyether/phosphazene (X-1P) mixtures are studied using microscopy. Ambient condition and hot/wet conditions are investigated using nitrogenated carbon overcoat. It is found that phase separation is not only a function of temperature and humidity but also a function of the nitrogen content of the carbon surface
