Abstract :
To study the influence of brass as electrode materials on self-breakdown characteristics of gas switch, which is designed for an EMP simulator, a static characteristics experiment platform was established. The electrodes of the switch were made of H62 brass and H96 brass respectively. The experimental results show that the deviation of self-breakdown voltage of H62 brass-made electrode gas switch increases greatly as N2 pressure rises, while the H96 brassmade electrode gas switch is less likely to occur self-discharge. Under 0.3MPa N2 pressure, the deviation of self-breakdown voltage of H96 brass-made electrode gas switch is far below that caused by using H62 brass.
