Abstract :
Trajectories of particles moving in a head media interface are simulated by a numerical approach. The simulation result shows that there are several areas on the ABS of a selected slider where particles easily accumulate. This numerically predicted result is consistent with the results obtained experimentally using a system designed for testing particle contamination. Therefore, the method can be used as a tool in slider designs for reducing particle contamination
