Abstract
A novel imaging method called relative coherent processing (RCP) was proposed, it can be used to enhance the quality and spatial resolution of single channel SAR images. The basic principle was detailed analyzed and the main formulas were given. Simulations were executed and the real data acquired by RadarSat-1 satellite was processed and all results proved that, the approach was effective; the main lobe of the point spread function (PSF) was sharpened and the range resolution was improved. It has a great promising in improving SAR image qualities.
