Capen, President of the Popular Science Publishing Company, the largest single monetary award in America for scientific accomplishment has been created by Popular Science Monthly in an annual prize of $10,000, accompanied by a gold medal, to the American citizen who, during the preceding year, has achieved scientific work of greatest potential value to the world.
