Abstract :
The magneto-optical and optical properties of Co/Pt multilayers with variable Co sublayer thickness as well as pure Co and Pt films and Co0.5tPt0.49 alloy films have been investigated in the 1.1-4.7 eV energy range experimentally and also by solving the multireflection task for various models of multilayer. The thickness of the alloyed interfacial region between pure sublayers, the diagonal and off-diagonal components of the dielectric tensor for spin-polarized Pt sublayers in the Co/Pt multilayers were determined by comparing the experimental optical and magneto-optical properties of the multilayers
