Abstract :
We present wind and spectral width measurements in a multiple beam experiment using polar mesospheric summer echoes (PMSE) as backscatterers. For each beam pointing direction, coherent radar imaging was applied using Capon´s method to weight the time series of several spatially separated receivers. Thereby we estimate the radial velocity and spectral width for several points inside the beam volume. These estimates are used to calculate a 3D map of turbulence in PMSE. The radial velocities are used in a gravity wave analysis with an increased number of virtual beam directions while keeping the original Nyquist frequency and increasing the spatial resolution.
