Abstract :
Describes, in terms of fiber parameters, four-wave-mixing generation in a higher order fiber dispersion managed transmission line in which positive and negative dispersion fibers are used to manage both second- and third-order fiber dispersion. An analysis shows that the full-width at half-maximum interaction in dense wavelength-division-multiplexing systems can be reduced by properly setting the channel spacing to suit the dispersion allocation in the transmission line.
