Abstract :
We demonstrate a 10-Gb/s return-to-zero transmitter with 5-dBm average power, 40-ps full-width at half-maximum pulsewidth,12-dB contrast ratio, and /spl plusmn/1-GHz wavelength stability at 1550 nm. The source comprises an FM modulated distributed feedback laser and a fiber Bragg grating optical discriminator module with tap monitors.
