Abstract :
Summary form only given. China joined EISCAT in 2006 to conduct research on the distribution and spectrum of plasma, polar ionospheric heating and its physics, the layered dust plasma contracture of PMSE and its aspect sensitivity. The most important Chinese EISCAT campaign was the polar ionospheric heating with the EISCAT heating facility located in Tromso, Norway and its diagnosis using EISCAT-ISR, which covers the artificial field-aligned irregularities and ionospheric scintillations, the parametric decay instability, ionospheric plasma parameters (such as density and temperature) and spectrum disturbance induced by powerful wave and VLF radiation from the “polar electrojet antenna” excited by powerful wave. Also, the artificial optical emission was focused with the cooperation of Lancaster University, UK. In addition, Chinese colleagues concerned PMSE to study the mesospheric dusty plasma. The aim is to quantify the temporal and spatial morphology, the dust particle size and charge as a possible radio media.
