            Abstract :
This paper describes two spatial distributed models based on one-dimensional (1-D) energy balance equation to assess land surface damage caused by a storm surge. IRS LISS III and RADARSAT SAR data were used to generate critical model input parameters. The model´s performance was validated for the Orissa super cyclone storm surge, India
