Herbert E. Rauch [People in Control]

In this issue of IEEE Control Systems Magazine (CSM), we speak with Herb Rauch, former editor-in-chief of CSM and former employee of the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory (now called Lockheed-Martin Advanced Technology Center). Herb was the founding editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and he was the editor of the Journal of the Astronautical Sciences for six years. He served as the editor-in-chief of CSM from 1985 to 1992, succeeding founding editor Mo Jamshidi. Herb´s area of expertise at Lockheed was control systems, and he has been an active member of the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) for more than 40 years.
