Abstract :
This paper describes the design of a wideband feed for on-axis parabolic cylinder antenna. This assembly, comprising four 4-square elements and reflective cavity, supports dual polarization. The feed is fed by a standard quarter wave balun which can provide a DC short. The current design is intended to work with the on-axis parabolic cylinder antenna from 700MHz to 1200MHz. The simulated results show that the VSWR from 700MHz to 1200MHz, stays below 2.3:1. A prototype of the proposed feed is built to validate the design experimentally, and a bandwidth of 700MHz-1200MHz is achieved.
