Agent computing set to be an agent of change

Even unusually well-informed IT professionals may look a bit stumped if you ask them what they think about agent computing (aka agent-based computing, agent technologies, et al). The notion has been around for years and has strong followings in the academic world, most notably at UK computer science departments at the universities of Southampton and Dundee.
