Abstract :
Common supertrunking practices employed in transmission system design are discussed. To provide a basis for appreciating the issues, a brief description of current trunking is provided. Approaches introduced recently in preparation for the introduction of high-definition and extended-definition television (HDTV and EDTV) and the resulting need for greater signal-to-noise ratios and wider bandwidths are covered.<>
