Abstract :
With tremendous increase in researches in the field of science and technology, the universe is getting shorter. In last few decades the advancement in communication technologies is overwhelming. As the worldwide population is growing and the area is becoming lesser, it has also become a challenge for the medical associates to take care of the patients by calling in the hospital and then personally checking them. With the advancement in Micro electromechanical sensors (MEMS) technology and wireless communication, this problem has got a solution by implementation of remote health monitoring system. Now, a person need not come to any hospital for regular checkups and can be taken care of at their residences with the help of Wireless Body Area Networks(WBAN). WBAN provides remote health monitoring. In this paper, we are going to present the basic challenges faced by this technique and their probable solutions. In particular, the challenges include sensors, inter-sensor communication, power efficiency, routing algorithms, routing protocols, along with network backbone.
