Abstract :
All people in specialised fields believe that their subjects are wide in their ramifications, and usually there is some truth in it. Hearing protection embraces some knowledge of acoustics, sound-level measurements, anatomy and physiology of the ear, work done in relation to damage caused by noise, various methods of decreasing noise at source and, if this is not possible, hearing protection. The subject can be further extended to a discussion on the need for, and methods of, hearing testing, for workers exposed to hazardous noise
